A. Know the test tube

Test tube, glass instrument most commonly used in chemical experiments, used as a reaction vessel for small amounts of reagents, used at room temperature or when heated.

The specification of the ordinary test tube is expressed by the outer diameter (mm) × length (mm), such as 10 mm× 100 mm, 12 mm× 100mm, 15 mm×150 mm, 18 mm×180 mm, 20 mm×200 mm, etc.

B. Usage and precautions

1. The tubes can be heated directly.

2. When taking the test tube, clamp it in 1/3 place away from the test tube mouth with middle finger, index finger and thumb; During oscillation, hold the upper end of the test bone with the thumb, index and middle fingers of the right hand and use wrist force to shake the bottom of the test tube.

3. Use tube clip when heating to avoid scald.

4. When heating the liquid, the volume of the liquid should not exceed 1/3 of the volume of the tube, and the tube should form a 45° Angle with the table top. Do not face the mouth of the test tube towards yourself or others;

5. Tilt the tube mouth slightly downward when heating solids;

6. Before heating, the outer wall of the test tube should be dried without leaving water droplets. When heating, the heat should be evenly heated without touching the wick of the alcohol lamp.

7. Can not immediately wash with water after heating, to prevent cracking.

C .Test tube use

1. a container for a small amount of liquid or a small amount of solid reagents;

2. A reaction vessel heated with a small amount of solid or liquid;

3. Collect a small amount of gas;

4. Device for dissolving small amounts of gas, liquid or solid solute.
