1. Characteristics and types of glassware

3. Custody of glass instruments

For example: conical flask after washing should be placed in the sampling basket or on the experimental table, can not be placed at will to prevent damage. After the burette is used, the internal residual liquid must be cleaned. In order to prevent dust, it can be covered with a plastic sleeve or clamped upside down on the burette rack. For the burette not used for a long time to clean the vaseline after pad paper separation, with a rubber band tied piston preservation, so as to avoid adhesion or slide damage. After the pipette is used, clean it and place it on the pipe rack or put it in the dust box for use. After the colorimeter is cleaned, line filter paper on a clean porcelain plate and put it upside down on the filter paper or into a clean vessel. For instruments with a stopper, such as volumetric flask, the stopper and the stopper should be connected with a rubber band or thread before use to avoid accidental breakage of the stopper or mixed use. For a long time not used, in the preservation of the need to pad a piece of paper between the bottle mouth and the cork, so as not to stick too long.

4. Clean storage of glassware

Under the premise of clean, tidy and convenient, the stored utensils should be labeled at different storage points, and the name, specification and time should be indicated to make the place conspicuous and easy to take and use.

In normal work use, if the used glassware and plastic utensils are not cleaned or contaminated, it will directly affect the accuracy of the test results, leading to large errors, or even failure of the test. For those that have not been used, they should be cleaned and dried in strict accordance with the regulations before use, otherwise errors will be introduced to the results and reliability will be lost. At the same time, try to do special dishes. For reagent residues that are easy to clean, the relative error of reusing after cleaning is very small, but for reagents that are difficult to clean, even if they are used in other tests after cleaning, the probability of cross-contamination will certainly increase. Therefore, the correct label is the premise to ensure the accuracy of sample results.

5. Method of drying glassware

According to the requirements of work practice, some utensils such as beakers and conical flasks can be used immediately after washing, while some chemical experiments require analytical instruments to be dry. Some require no water, some require no trace of water. The requirements vary from project to project. So according to different requirements should be washed after each use and dry reserve. For those not in urgent need, air dry naturally. After washing with pure water, turn it upside down to remove moisture in the clean place, so as to achieve the purpose of natural drying. For continuous use of the instrument, after washing control to remove moisture, into the electric oven drying, drying oven temperature of 105-120℃ for 1h or so, can also be placed in the drying oven drying. Some weighing flasks wait until after drying but also in the dryer cooling and preservation, until completely dry.
