The Pipeclay Triangle is a crucible for burning.
It is twisted with iron wire and covered with porcelain tubes, of different sizes. It can be used to support a burning crucible or a small evaporation pan for heating. When the crucible is placed, the bottom of the crucible should be placed on one of the three porcelain tubes horizontally and diagonally.
A triangular support made of wound heat - resistant ceramic tubes and iron wire, used to support a crucible for heating and preventing cracking.
The Pipeclay Triangle can withstand high temperatures because it is encased in heat-resistant ceramic tubes, and it can withstand weight because the hollow tubes are threaded with iron wire. When an object needs intense heat from a Bunsen burner, a mud triangle is usually placed on an iron ring as support for the object. Or in experiments that require an alcohol lamp to heat a crucible.
High Temperature Resistance
It has the characteristics of high melting and boiling point and can be used at high temperature without being affected.
Electrical Insulating
Insulator has high resistivity at room temperature. It can be used in equipment requiring insulation.

Laboratory commonly used tripod support heating, and the laboratory common crucible is made of porcelain, tripod is made of iron. The expansion coefficient of porcelain and iron is different. The shape of the Pipeclay Triangle is simpler than the crucible, and the thickness is larger, so it is not easy to break. Therefore, the porcelain crucible should be placed on the Pipeclay Triangle, the Pipeclay Triangle on a tripod, and then reheated.
